How Many Customer Marketing Team Members Are Typical by Company Size?

❓For those of you who are part of a company with 1000-2000 employees, how many customer marketing team members are on your team covering the most essential customer advocacy responsibilities (not including lifecycle or community)? 2000-4000 (tel:2000-4000) employees? 4000-6000 (tel:4000-6000) employees? More than 6000 employees? Thanks!

At my previous company (~2K employees), we ranged from 2 up to 5 (including the Director of CM). At my current company (6K employees), we are a team of 4 FTE ICs, 1 Sr. Director, and 1 agency partner (6 total)

1,500 employees, customer marketing and community team has 3 full time members, one additional currently being hired for CAB/lifecycle, and the support of 2 contractors (20 hrs/week)
2,000 employees, customer marketing/community/social team, 4 full time members, one additional being hired, one intern (POC changes every 4 months), and one contractor (15 hrs/week)

At Nuance, we had about 6,000 people and there were 5 of us on the team, plus one contractor doing 20-30 hours/week. We were focused on references and customer relationships, not content creation (when we uncovered stories, we'd punt them over to solutions + field marketing to create/amplify)

Sap has around 100k employees and we had a team of about 90 people (after October layoffs it is now about 45.

idk if this info should make me feel better or worse 🫠 -- solidarity at least! we're around 900 employees and it's me and a direct report. we own everything - advocacy, customer programs (roundtables, office hours, CAB), community, lifecycle including expansion, references
