Question for the group: How do you decide on who (which vendor, agency) to use to create videos... particularly like case study videos or testimonials (even event testimonials)? In your experience is it usually:
that your company has someone they use (e.g. on retainer)?
you have a contact that you use and suggest?
Not your call? another team's call
In house?
Or do you shop around?
Maybe you use someone that is local to the area you're shooting in?
Someone refers you?
I think I've done a mix of everything above... but I honestly don't know how to find the best possible option because I'm bombarded with video requests in email + linkedin feed. Curious how others approach finding the best partner for videos
Hey Kevin S.! My experience has been a mixture of everything you listed. In my last role, we were considering using an actual customer of ours (Speakerbox Media - they are amazing). But our demand gen team was already using a company (I wish I could remember their name!). If you’re trying to save on budget, recording on Zoom and having AI edit it, would be a good route! You could have the customer use a personalized Zoom background so it's clean and presentable.
Jaz Cuevas do you have contact info for Speakerbox Media? And do they only produce onsite podcasts or do they also offer virtual production? thanks!
Amy Shever Hiya! Reach out to Sarah smith on LinkedIn and let her know I referred you (Jasmina from BILL): Check out Sarah Smith’s profile on LinkedIn They do virtual production as well!
Virtual: Streamyard Editing and packaging: Descript Q&A self guided: vocal video Onsite teams or external Contractors can vary wildly depending on experience and often need a lot of guidance.
For virtual, we filmed via Teams and produced on our own with the help of our digital team. You can definitely leverage AI to help with editing the raw footage to a more reasonable and consumable length assuming the right prompting. For onsite/in-person filming, we used 29 Studios. I'd highly recommend them, although they are based out of Scotland. They do have clients in the US and do quite a bit of filming here. We also shopped around or used local vendors when we needed and, in particular, when budget (or lack of) was a factor.
do you have an example of one you did with teams?
Hi Kevin S. We did this one internally via Teams. https://www.verint.com/case-studies/ruffwear-improves-support-experience-with-verint-callback/
Please contact Ben Freedman at Prime Image ben@primeimagemedia.com He and is his team are the best. I've used him for 15 or so years at the past couple of companies I worked for. He is very reasonably priced compared to others I was forced to use and does a wonderful job. He is one of the easiest vendors to work with too. Such a great guy and so good and fast.
I knew someone through my last FT gig - lnkd.in/p/… Julia Tranfaglia. Based out of California.
