For those who have a “logo rights” field in Salesforce, what section do you have it in - Client Information, Sales & Marketing, or something else?
I like to put it in the Customer Reference object (if it exists)!
I've worked at companies where it is stored under the Legal Clause section of the account/opp, as well as the Contract object (there was a "Terms" field which listed the customer reference clause)
Alexie Glover that would be a good idea…unfortunately our customer reference object lives in package data and houses RefEdge, I’m not sure we could add a separate unrelated and public field there. Emily G. Those also make sense but we don’t have a Legal Clause section. And contracts seems to just be the list of contracts. This may be answering my question just with the limitations of our setup!
That makes sense — I think most of the objects I mentioned were customized fields/objects that our Sales Ops team built out 😅
Are you asking where it exists in the contract or which object the field is associated with in SFDC?
Which object the field is associated with. We don’t have logo rights clause in our contract but plan to use this field to easily track all the accounts we have logo rights for, whether through customer stories, quotes, logo asks, etc
Got it. We have Logo Rights true/false boolean as a field in our Account object in the Account Information section. It is triggered in one of 2 ways. We have a "Marketing Inclusions" field in our Opportunity object that's associated with the contract details from ironclad. If logo rights are selected in the marketing inclusion pick list, then the field is true in the Account object. We also automatically assume logo rights for companies in our self-service or lower tier plan unless they have opted out. So, if they meet the plan criteria, the box is also checked.
Thanks! Yea we will be manually populating which isn’t necessarily ideal but is what it is for now.
It's nice having it up higher in the Account Information section, because it makes it easy for anyone with Salesforce access to check if a particular company has logo rights. We also have a Looker dashboard that gives a list of all the companies with specific marketing rights. I feel really fortunate that someone else set up the process of incorporating marketing rights into the contracts before I got here.
Christine Newman curious—if you have RefEdge why are you looking for another logo permissions field?
I’d like anyone to be able to see that info
