Hi everyone! I'm presenting our CAB program recommendations to my LT next week and am hoping to share how other orgs are running their programs to give them a sense of the landscape. If you run a CAB at your org and you have a moment, would you mind threading or DMing me with answers to a handful of questions? Hoping it'll only take you a minute or two!
Your industry/vertical/who are your customers?
Is your CAB mostly executives/senior LT or a mixture of levels?
How many CAB members do you have? Do they have a commitment timeframe? 2 years, 1 year, etc?
Do you offer them stock options or some sort of tangible offering for participating? If so, what?
How many times do you meet per year? Are they mostly virtual or in-person? A mixture?
Thanks so much for taking the time.
Hi there Old account - don’t use -Cameron Olshansky! I don’t currently run a CAB program but I have in the past - here is what I can share from my experience:
Industry was fintech
CAB is mostly senior executives/decision makers
CAB typically included 15-25 folks and commitment was for a year at minimum but they can renew if wanted to
We offered them gifts/gift cards for their time and participation for each invite, feedback session, etc.
we would meet with them at least once a year and then the rest would be virtual. The in person meeting would be a bigger event and we’d bring in team members from the company to meet the CAB members and announce new products.
This is great, thank you so much Jaz Cuevas!
Hi Old account - don’t use -Cameron Olshansky I have done CAB consulting for 2 small consulting companies. A couple of keys for running a successful CAB:
+Have an executive sponsor for the CAB +Create a charter that outlines the CAB and its terms for members +Typical commitment is at least a year but I see more 2 year terms - always keep recruiting in mind as you will need to bring in new members as others leave companies, etc. +Senior leaders are most common as C-Suite can be challenging to get their time but I would really try to not mix levels. C-Suite executives want to be in the room with other C-level folks. +Meeting once a year in person with quarterly virtual meetings is the cadence I have seen the most.
Happy to chat live with you Old account - don’t use -Cameron Olshansky for additional color.
Thank you Kelley Spiridakis, this is great. I super appreciate your thoughts.
