After almost four years leading enterprise customer marketing at SAP Concur in Australia and New Zealand, I was unfortunately made redundant just over a week ago.
As tough as it's been to take in the news, I’ve really enjoyed having some time to spend with family, and have begun to think about what’s next.
I’m looking for my next role, and am hoping to stay in what I think is the most underrated and still very much untapped area of marketing: customer marketing. So whether it’s creating add-on campaigns to drive pipeline-generation efforts on the customer front, building advocacy programs that influence deals, or finding ways to close the feedback loop, count me in.
To my SAP Concur friends, thank you for making me a better marketer, and for welcoming me into the corporate world from startupland all those years ago. I’ve loved working alongside all of you, and finding ways to make our customers’ stories shine. Thank you as well to each and every customer I’ve worked with — it’s truly been an honour to share all your wins.
If anyone is looking to add customer marketing to their organisation, please let me know. And if anyone wants to just catch up to better understand the customer marketing/customer advocacy function, reach out!
