About Job Seeking: The old advice was to network with loose connections in your job search. To have a list of target companies. Is this advice still relevant when trying to land a customer marketing role? Asking for a friend. 🙂
I believe it still is, but with the way the LinkedIn algorithm has changed creating a meaningful presence on LI is going to need to become a core part of your efforts. LinkedIn is encouraging recruiters to better use their AI and keyword elements to surface qualified candidates and emphasizing less the job board elements. It isn't going away, but it's definitely being shifted in the mix of how LI is positioning itself to recruiters paying to use the platform to make their jobs easier and only reaching out to who is surfaced as a qualified candidate. So, you need to use both approaches IMHO.
