Do you have FOJI for AI? Yesterday, in the ai-study-group channel I shared that I'd been having trouble using AI more because I was afraid it would take a lot of time (and quite frankly, I felt like I'd mess up a lot). On a video today, they seem to call this FOJI (fear of jumping in). Are you dealing with this?
I used this acronym this week lol I was pretty intimidated in using Claude after having a hard time setting it up last week, but after some encouragement from my manager (gracias Daniel Palay), I was able to build out my first skill 🥹 My learnings: be okay to fail a bit. There's a learning curve and once you get it, you'll be off to the races 🐎
What do you do with skills?
From my understanding, a skill is a package of instructions/resources that Claude applies whenever relevant. They're reusable and provide Claude with domain-specific expertise (i.e. workflows, context, best practices). This week I translated a ChatGPT Agent I had built into a Claude Skill and it'll be 1 out of the 3 skills that I want to build as part of a larger project we're working on. Still a newbie, but I also found out that a plugin lets you package skills, agents, hooks, etc. and can be shared across teams and projects
I'm still learning all of this. I started an MCP this week but it wasn't helpful for what I needed. And I have created artifacts and projects in Claude this week too. There's a lot of nuance but I'm moving along and finding more use cases.
I've created a couple artifacts and plan to do more this week. I'll share some tomorrow.
