Hey all. Has anyone built a map or sheet to help sales name-drop local customers? Our sales team (specifically pub sec) really wants to reference nearby accounts when talking to prospects, and I’ve been asked to help with this. I thought about creating a Google Map with pins, but our Salesforce ops team said it isn’t secure when I tried to pull a report 🫠 so back to the drawing board. Has anyone done something similar or have ideas on a better way to do this?
I’ve done this at many companies using logos in PPT slides. Sales loves these. I usually do a high level one for global, then some by region and industry usually the targeted industries only. It’s tricky to do detailed like you’re asking because it’s is a liability to have your customer lists exposed so use caution.
I have a namedrop section in a database I built, but Salesforce is the single source of truth, so if a customer churns, they are automatically removed. When you say not secure, do you mean you can't use an API to update a map or the data is unreliable?
Some of our customers have created one pagers with different regions with customers of that location shown on each one... Takes a little bit of leg work, but like Liz said above, sharing slides or one pagers is usually adopted by sales pretty well!
Liza McGraw funny enough, we're looking into this at Peerbound and have built some of the building blocks already. will DM you in Slack...
thank you all!
