Building a Data-Driven Budget for SaaS Customer Marketing
Hi all—As we head into financial planning, I’m building a data-backed case for next year’s budget. I work at an enterprise SaaS company and our customer marketing team's charter is to drive new user acquisition and expand product usage. We do not own customer advocacy/case studies (managed by Communications) or in-product promotion (owned by Growth). For next year, I’m seeking budget to:
Run ABM-style campaigns targeting key accounts
Develop product education assets to accelerate adoption
Invest in tooling, specifically a CDP and a community platform
I’d appreciate any guidance, benchmarks, or ROI frameworks—ideally tied to DAU (daily active users) targets—that can help quantify impact or help me reverse engineer a budget.
