How much do certifications on a resume affect interview decisions?

Question for everyone. How much do certifications listed on a resume, like the CMA Customer Marketing Certification, impact a decision to interview the candidate? What certifications hold more weight than others?

I have been on both sides of the interview process and don't believe these particular certifications hold much weight in hiring decision. Platform level certs are stronger. And then once you're in role, advocacy certs are helpful from a research or continuing education angle.

As a hiring manager I would be most interested in a candidate that has taken Referential's course on advocacy, but I would consider someone for the CMA cert as well, if all else is equal. But I have to say it wouldn't be the deciding factor for interviewing someone. Their wins are much more important.
